Event Charity

Nevada Cancer Institute – As a nonprofit center, an essential part of NVCI’s mission is to ensure cancer patients and their families, regardless of their geographic location, have access to the latest in cancer prevention, education, detection and therapeutic options.

NVCI began treating patients in 2005, and to date, more than 13,000 patients have received care. In addition, more than 500,000 individuals have been touched through outreach and education efforts such as the HopeCoach mobile mammogram program; patient navigation efforts throughout Nevada; health fairs offering screening services and promoting prevention and nutrition; support groups for patients, family members, and survivors; continuing medical education lectures for healthcare professionals; and community lectures like Cancer Conversations.

Event Chef
Executive Chef, Jeff Braun & Executive Pastry Chef, Everett Williams from the Mirage Hotel & Resort

Chef Jeff’s philosophy for food is quite simple.  “start with quality product, execute techniques perfectly and present the food appealingly.”

With a wealth of knowledge in the industry, Jeff Braun was chosen to bring his experience and talent to the MGM Resorts International in 2004 as the Assistant Executive Chef.  He has since played a valuable role within the Mirage Food & Beverage team and was promoted to Executive Chef in 2009.

Jeff’s passion for food and desire to travel are two defining features that have resulted in many global culinary adventures.  These adventures have taken him too many parts of Southeast Asia and other notable places such as Spain, Jamaica, Germany, Mexico and Italy.

Event Purveyers
Colorado River Coffee Roasters in Boulder City, Nevada.  “Micro-roasted” refers to coffee roasting processes in which the green beans are roasted in small batches to exact specifications so that the roasting can be fine-tuned for the specific bean, from batch to batch.  The process is a craft tended by an artisan rather than a machine.   Micro-roasted coffee is considered by many to be the best tasting coffee available on the retail market. The processes employed are designed to bring out the best of any coffee variety.

Bon Breads is dedicated exclusively to artisan breads. Each and every one of our recipes has been originally created and developed. All of our breads are made with raw materials such as unbleached or whole wheat or rye flour, salt, and water.

Gilcrease Orchard is located in the north end of Las Vegas. The orchard spans over 50 acres, with more than 6000 apple, pear and peach trees. In the summer a variety of vegetables, including tomatoes, pumpkin, cucumber and squash are grown.  Pick Your Own is the primary way most of the fruit and vegetables are harvested. This gives Las Vegans and their children the only local opportunity to come be a part of a working farm.  Open Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.
